How many people were at Camp Mystic during the flood?


During the flood at Camp Mystic, there were approximately 750 campers and counselors at the site.

I also think so many rescued is a testament to the remarkable first responders.

The night before the NWS and local channels and online forecasters all broadcast Flash Flood Watch notifications.

Multiple ones.

Then at 1:14 AM the NWS dropped the flashing red light. FLASH FLOOD WARNING... with predictions of extremely high flood waters and life threatening scale...

The water hit 3-4 hours later.

The Camp director sat on that warning for more than an hour before ANYONE sought higher ground.
