Pres. Trump reacts to 'Late Show' cancellation: 'I absolutely love that Colbert got fired'

President Trump is celebrating the end of CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired,” he wrote on Truth Social. “His talent was even less than his ratings.”

The president then directed his attention to other late night hosts.

“I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great ‘Tonight Show.'”

The comments come hours after Paramount, CBS’s parent company, announced the show is coming to an end in May 2026 and it was for financial reasons only.

Stephen Colbert should run for office, if he has a stomach for it. He absolutely would win. Walleye Jul 2025 #2
Not surprised he's training his sights on Jimmy Kimmel, but Jimmy Fallon? He's kinda weak tea comparatively... hlthe2b Jul 2025 #3

He's always struck me as too determined to be liked by all to have any real sharp humor directed at any major figure.
