For You Meat Eaters Out There...

Do you realize how inhumane industrialized animal agriculture is?

Do you really want to eat meat raised with artificial hormones and antibiotics?

There is so much wrong with industrial farming.

So, for your health and to support family farms, please stop when you see signs for farm-fresh meat and eggs.

Most animals on family farms live a good life compared to their counterparts on factory farms.

Local meat and eggs taste better, and it's better for you. It supports your community.

Buy local.

but I think you raise many good points. And I want to point out that you are not telling anyone what to do but instead making suggestions. Your suggestions are factually based. I am not a big fan of meat, so I don't have a dog in this fight so to speak. But if I was I would consider your suggestions.

And I support them.

I was raised on meat and potatoes.

Even decades ago, the argument was that game was healthier and more humane than factory-farmed meat.

Although not perfect, we meat eaters can be environmentally conscious while supporting better and more humane treatment of animals.

Small steps, but it's still progress.

To have Beef and Eggs available to us produced on local farms within a 30 mile radius. And there is no doubt local farm produced eggs are much better then store bought. However relative to being fortunate we are deep in the minority.

I love my boy (despite his being a MAGA Zoomer). He takes good care of his mama.

So I have a variety of local slaughterhouse to choose from. I always buy from one of them. It's actually less expensive, too, because they have their own herd and there's no middle man.

I buy my grass fed/ grass finished beef from a rancher/college professor woman in my book club.
I can also buy from other local ranchers at our small one woman owned grocery store.

However, I buy my organic chicken from large organic stores.

I have chickens that I only feed organically - so I have healthy eggs.
Chickens are always attacking each other which is a drag in my old age - constantly putting chickens in time out pens. However, I love raw egg yokes in my smoothies.

In fact - cows have wandered over to my house when I left my gate open. Washing dishes and suddenly hearing moos.
