WASHINGTON President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, the White House announced Thursday.
The condition is benign and common for people above age 70, U.S. Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, the presidents physician, wrote in a memo regarding the presidents health.
The 79-year-old president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies, after he noticed mild swelling in his lower legs, the memo said.
The condition happens when veins in the leg struggle to get blood to flow back to the heart, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
In the memo, Barbabella specified that there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or arterial disease, and results from lab testing were within normal limits. Trump also underwent an echocardiogram, in which no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified.

(46,155 posts)So now were supposed to believe he has some love of vigorous hand-shaking?
These people will say anything.
P.S. I seriously doubt whats wrong with him is as benign as they claim

(16,431 posts)I am on a blood thinner and get those hand bruises in that place when I have a procedure and they stick a needle there to introduce drugs. Just happened last month when I had a procedure for back pain and they gave me happy drugs (fentanyl I found out according to the bill) and put it in through the needle in the top of my hand. Big bruise for about 3 or 4 days.
I have to believe he's on blood thinners that aren't aspirin. I also believe his has cardiovascular issues more serious than the official pronouncement by Press Secretary Barbie.

(1,892 posts)I'm pretty sure what I'm smelling is bullshit. It's congestive heart failure. Period, end of story, and hopefully him as well. Soon.
I did 15 years in acute care transcription. At the least, he has congestive heart failure. The bruised hands are from regular IVs and infiltration, so theyre treating him for something big. Dont forget the tertiary syphilis as a bonus. Id be happy with a major heart attack or strokewhatever takes him out soonest.
