(604 posts)Trump has harmed America so much in the last six months that I expect a book about it to appear any day now. Firing air traffic controllers when the country needs more of them to help control the crowded skies. Firing people from the national weather service so that warnings about the Texas floods came too late. Wanting to end FEMA, one of the most important government programs. Ending USAID and destroying 50 tons of food which was about to be sent to Africa. ICE (which deported a lot of people under George W. Bush and Obama) is now resorting to racist profiling, arresting innocent people and resorting to violence like never before. Firing thousands of government workers from essential jobs. Sending soldiers into American cities for sheer intimidation. And so much more.

(1,039 posts)knew what a dirt bag TACO Donnie has always been. Most of this stuff about him was known. Our problem as a country is that we dont hold or elected officials to the same standards as any of us common folk. We have to pass FBI background checks to get a damn job or join the military. If Donnie had been required to submit to that, he never would have been able to be a candidate. This country does not have equality in any area of our society: not employment, not education, not healthcare, not politics, not justice. I could go on but Im sure you all get my point.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
