Americans have proven democracy doesn't work. There are three groups: 1 the people who work with science and facts who genuinely want a better country for all groups of people, 2 the science denying Christian nationalists who want rich white, strait, Christian men to control everything, and 3 the appallingly stupid undecided voters who are just pissed about everything without any understanding of how things work and inevitably vote for the other side to take back power after each administration.

You can't have the right wing with brainwashing and meanness. You can absolutely have the right wing without stupidity - that's why they need to brainwash people.

You are assuming that everyone knows the same information you do. Studies have demonstrated that people who watch only Fox News do not know the facts on lots of things about Trump. Fox and the right wing media has carefully brainwashed people (especially people who may not have any other source of news except Fox and other right wing media) into believing in an alternative reality (just like Jim Jones did) in which Trump's trial was a corrupt left wing smear job (and others).

There is plenty of hatred and meanness and fear and bigotry and misogynism to have the right wing with or without stupidity - and ignoring that is just going to make things worse!
