You truly don't appreciate its horrific reputation.

NO, I am NOT suggesting he is not deserving of hell on earth in the worst prison in the world. He's deserving of that and more. But for you to claim he is going to get a comparatively desirable future in that hell hole is to not to understand anything about THAT prison. He is going on state charges, not Federal, and this is going to be the potentially deadly environment that many would argue he deserves.

with stage 4 cancer we are deporting. Or a Hispanic laborer incarcerated in alligator Auschwitz for being “illegal”. A hard rain is going to fall on this Country.

He got due process unlike the thousands of unarmed refugees we are treating as subhuman.

I'm thinking of how long Dahmer lasted in prison, not to forget James 'Whitey' Bulger. These high profile guys can make for targets.

Unless they keep him in isolation, and that can be another type of hell.

... that you seriously would welcome other criminals inflicting crimes on him as extrajudicial punishment????? I don't know about you, but criminals don't get to speak for me.

For shame. You may have been a jimmy one, but it sounds more like a Captain Bligh.

Sorry, you're not going to get your wish. Life in prison is the appropriate sentence, and the harshest one a society should mete out. It is not a reward; it's a mercy.

And of course you had to bring up Prison Rape. Wouldn't be DU without it...

The quality of mercy is not strained;
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes:
'T is mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown:
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway;
It is enthronèd in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice.

and he was acquitted? The local authorities had screwed up part of this case, there was a possibility of another DNA on the weapon. Idaho is full of crazy people and crazy people do crazy things on juries. This was a sure win! And he is a very creepy guy and he will not be able to defend himself in prison....

But it has to be *without*.

If further evidence exonerates the person, that's just fine.

Otherwise, *without*.

who will not do well in gen pop---likely autistic, bright but creepy, with apparently odd mannerisms and a weird stare. I think he'll end up either Jeffrey Dahmer'd or in solitary "for his own safety". Neither outcome is good. You call that "the life of Reilly"? I'd call that hell, either way.

As long as he's no longer a credible threat, I think the threshold of justice is met. From my chair, anything beyond that becomes visceral and something other than justice.

This is an incredibly stupid post. Mindnumbingly so.

And I rarely if ever say that here on DU.
