Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDid you notice during Trump's press conference with Powell that they had to put a little sticker near the top of the
document he handed Powell? That was to make sure he didn't hand it to him upside down because the fucker CAN'T READ!
Then Powell indicated the document wasn't what Trump was making it out to be. This shows you that his own staff is playing him, giving him fake props to show to support his lies. -- "so what the letter is not what he thinks it is -- he won't know anyway". Because he CAN'T READ.
When Trump signs executive orders, he never reads them - he asks his staffers to tell him what it is he is signing. Watch when someone hands him something expecting him to read it aloud. He looks at it pretending to read it silently then he hands it back asking the person who gave it to him to read it aloud.
He got some nerve complaining about Biden's auto pen when he is signing executive orders he can't read.

(3,796 posts)but all Jerome Powell had to do was shake his head and put on his reading glasses to outclass that fool. Then--speak truth to power. Powell better stay away from high windows, tRump would love to do a Putin "suicide" on him.

(13,658 posts)This flyweight has been coddled his whole fucking life. We need a lot more people like Powell, unafraid to make a simple correction and shake off the gaslighting that Dotard uses nonstop to construct his own fantasy world.

(6,670 posts)* and it's not that he's literally unable to recognize words. Let's be precise in our criticisms. If the issue is with his ability to understand complex information or stay on topic, let's discuss that specifically. It's more productive to address the actual concerns rather than resorting to hyperbole.

(53,560 posts)Though he undoubtedly has poor reading comprehension, he can read, just not well. In situations like this, the problem could also be his eyesight and the fact that he is too vain to wear reading glasses.

(29,809 posts)You are too kind -
It often seems to me that the only time TACO Donvict doesn't struggle with words is when he is either boasting about himself or ranting about some past or present perceived injustice - his two favorite topics. If he has to speak about something that doesn't interest him, his speaking abilities go all to hell.
PatSeg
(53,560 posts)when he rattles off the same old boastful crap about himself like a broken record. He has it all memorized so it is no wonder he likes to go off on those rants.
PatSeg
(53,560 posts)Though I also believe he is reluctant to be seen in public with his reading glasses. Most people his age need reading glasses.
All his issues just get worse as he gets older and we've been able to see that decline on a daily basis since he first ran for office.

(7,301 posts).... too many words. Too many letters. It won't fit on a protest sign.
Our message has to be clear, simple and straight forward. "He can't read" is an excellent summary of the situation in the context of the situation.

(3,225 posts)...as the kids say. At the very least, Trump probably has dyslexia or some other learning-related issue or disability. This also isn't the first time that he's clearly not aware of what the documents he's handling and signing actually say. I also recall at least one recent signing ceremony where Trump had to be told what the documents were because he either couldn't or wouldn't read them. Worse yet, at this event, Trump was cluelessly signing a huge (oh, sorry...yuge) stack of documents!
