At the same time, intelligence is not necessarily an indicator of political leaning. The higher your intelligence, the more likely you tend to be a political centrist, for instance. You get a pretty even mix between economic conservatives and economic liberals at higher intelligences, but social conservatism definitely correlates strongly with lower cognitive ability. That's why you have to be careful with overly broad generalizations.
