All those grandiose declarations about "sunlight is a disinfectant", "when they go low, we go high" etc. are completely not working with Trump.

For the past decade he has been lying, cheating, stealing, breaking the law multiple ways with no or very little consequences. Many of his dastardly deeds were done out in the open, widely discussed and it did make a bit of a difference.
