One of Reno shooting's (yesterday) victims raised money for 2018 mass shooting

Reno casino shooting victim: Andrew Canepa identified as one of 3 killed | abc10.com

Andrew Canepa, a father and co-owner of a restaurant in Ventura County, has been identified as one of the three people killed when a gunman opened fire at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.

Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Correll tweeted about Canepa’s death Monday night.

He said, in part, “Andrew was a kind soul, a dedicated business owner, and a loving father to his young son. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the Side Street Café community during this incredibly difficult time. We will miss seeing his warm presence at the restaurant and are deeply saddened by this loss.”

The Side Street Café is in Newbury Park and Canepa’s loss is felt by other business owners.

"One of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Always very welcoming, always happy. Very welcoming to the community, very supportive," Rick with Eastwind Screenprint told KABC in Los Angeles.

KABC reports Canepa previously raised funds for the victims of the 2018 mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks.
