(79,434 posts)He understood the rules of the game he played. At first, I had no opinion, as both options seemed possible. One of the things I looked for was how Barr would react. His behavior convinced me to look closer at the possibility that Epstein was hit. It seems pretty clear when you do look closely.

(131,706 posts)at least as pertains to the way the story is being handled. It's all starting to look like the never-ending speculation over the JFK assassination and all the conspiracy theories that arose almost immediately afterwards when the Warren Commission was created and which concluded that Oswald acted alone. Documents relating to the assassination weren't released until 2017 (with more to come), and in the meantime the conspiracy theories exploded and haven't gone away. There are holes in the explanations of the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death as well, and the more the FBI insists he committed suicide without explaining the holes, the more their explanations will be questioned, and the conspiracy will grow. Of course this doesn't help Trump a bit - MAGA always thought of him as their hero in the fight against the Deep State, but now he is the Deep State.

(9,193 posts)and nobody at the FBI or DOJ said "Let's be sure we have eyeballs on him 24/7 and not just cameras."? All the rest of the "circumstances" all lined up for him to "commit suicide"? Before he even got there millions were screaming about keeping a close eye on him. So despite all of the FBI agents who worked on this Bill Barr decided he needed to make a personal visit and no notes of what was said. No review of security by Barr. But I'm sure it happens all the time that the US Attorney General goes and has private talks with high profile criminals before trial.

(2,252 posts)It also doesn't refute the autopsy or the 2023 Justice Department review. If someone is going to be telling us how wrong we were and such, it should be supported by more than this.

I don't believe they ever released the autopsy. It didn't say so in the link.

(6,948 posts)i'm not sure what you are trying to suggest here? People who die under suspicious circumstances are often autopsied.

(4,028 posts)Isn't that the point? Pretending that it's a proven fact that Epstein committed suicide may not be entirely supported by the available facts.
If, by "refute," you mean "proves beyond reasonable doubt," well...hardly anything meets that evidentiary standard.

That is true.
The linked article calls the certitude that Epstein offed himself into question. And the linked article is not from a notably conspiracy-mongering source.

Other then suicide, such as what you say the OP wrote , would also include accidental death or death by natural causes.

(614 posts)Trump's attempts to make this go away just makes it more suspicious. If an investigation into Epstein's death is opened, Trump will really have a meltdown even though one would think I'd like to see that done to insure that he is cleared of any involvement.

(114,750 posts)but the number of coincidences that had to stack up to add up to suicide in his case completely beggar the imagination. The only way they could have made this one convincing to me is if they'd pulled his pants down around his ankles and posed his hands in front. Autoerotic asphyxiation gone wrong might have been believable. A suicide consistent with his imjuries in a cell specifically designed to prevent them was not.
IMO, that cat got whacked. Not sure by whom or how, but enough people wanted him shut up and permanently disappeared to fund, plan, and finish the job.

(43 posts)I worked in AZ DOC for 20 years, been on a few suicide watches. For the amount of things to go wrong that went wrong for him to hang himself blow the odds.
1) Should have been in a bunny suit(to light weight to make a noose to chock yourself out)
2) Should have had a suicide blanket(almost impossible to tear and make into a noose). It can be torn, but NOT quickly.
3) CO are monitoring under camera.
4 Sgt. is suppose to note on a suicide log at least 4 times during an 8 hour shift that he made a visual inspection of the watch cell.

If OP cannot post evidence of the murder, this thread should be locked.
If I do not see a response from a credible source I will be forced to Alert the thread.

(34,318 posts)Argues with some of us about some of these things like this or the other day when I said maga piece of shit Ellison is going to control Paramount CBS and I was quickly told by someone that he had such a small financial interest in the merger that he couldnt possibly be in charge, that turned out to be wrong.
My point being its one thing to say well you might be right that he was murdered but I disagree with you but thats not what the folks did, they laughed and said how foolish we were and called us conspiracy theorists.
Does this prove beyond any doubt he was murdered, no. Does it leave room for doubt about what happened, obviously.
I would never phrase it like I did had I not been made fun of when I said he was murdered, and its true that I have no doubt then or now that he was murdered. Obviously for now thats just my opinion.

(34,318 posts)Ellison would run CBS Paramount and it would become a maga fascist operation, instantly someone came on to educate me about how little ownership he had and I even deferred to them and said well I guess if thats correct I would be wrong and then of course I did some research.
I remember being scolded for calling Trump a traitor and a Nazi in 2016 or 2017.
Several people said I obviously did not understand the word treason because since we were not in a war blah blah blah, its more nuance than that but I guess my reputation precedes me because Im that guy that will not let go of the nose holders.

(2,252 posts)Weird comparison given Epstein was a human rights abuser and was facing life in prison.
Not so fun facts. There were 22,830 murders in the US in 2023. On the other hand there were over 49,000 suicides in 2023. Suggests you should be more skeptical of murder given it's less common.

There. Put some common sense back into the equation. Now, can we go forward with convicting those responsible? Somebody knows SOMETHING and could be made to talk if the stakes were high enough.

(34,318 posts)BBC interview say very simply that it was not a suicide.
And one of the responses here links to the renowned criminal pathologist autopsy guy saying in all the suicidal neck hangings hes looked at never once has he seen those three bones broken. And then of course there is still missing jail tape etc.
And the brand new CBS report saying major discrepancies etc., I guess maga Paramount owner Ellison hasnt gotten control yet because soon we wont be able to trust anything on CBS.
But thank you again for your adult response,
