I believe Jerome Powell played Trump like a knock off Stradivarius.

Trump has been blustering about interest rates all month until he met Powell at the Fed Reserve building.
After that day he came out and declared the economy is booming. That it's so robust and things are so great in the Land of Trump that no interest rate cuts are needed.

I think Powell found out that a little flattery goes long way with this administration. He was blowing smoke up his ass to get what he wanted.
He's like an insecure little girl who just wants to hear how pretty she is.
