Democrats going into the 2026 Midterms . . . . .

We all know that just about everything is going to cost more as of tomorrow. (TFG just signed another EO, mandating 41% tariffs on any country that hasn't made a "deal" with him.)

All Democrats have to stick to this script: Elect us to the House and the Senate to gain a majority and we'll repeal the tariffs. Trump did this and we can undo it.

Yeah, we'll need 2/3 votes in both Houses to override the anticipated veto. But the remaining Republicans may be more afraid of their constituents than of TFG by that time. We don't need all of them; just a few to put us over the Finish Line.

If we can't make the point by 2026, someone tell me when the voters will be receptive.

Let's say Democrats end up with 240 seats which would mean they'd have to net close to 30 seats in the midterm elections - a big gain. To get to 2/3 would still require 50 Republican votes.

And flipping Republicans is difficult enough as it is....Trump has managed to vanquish almost every single one of his large Republican legislative foes, with the exceptions of Murkowski and Collins.
