One of my close friends as a kid till I was 7 1/2 when we moved was Japanese American. Dad Japsnese, mom white. I have vague memories, but he was nice the few times I met him, vs being w her mom (positive, as well) at home.

Then a close Chinese American friend with 2 older brothers. One who I had more contact with off and on for years. Nice guy and did some special photography shoots of my sculptures.

In the mean time also a good guy, nice Chinese-American fellow art student in college. He was my boss later on at two different magazines where I did paste ups and mechanicals for him.
Also had anorher Chinese-American woman friend in art college. Back then, they didn't speak badly of Asian American men.

So plenty of postive experiences waaay before social media!
