Texas Roadhouse is under fire from a Trump-aligned legal group accusing it of discriminating against white men. Conservative lawyers are arguing that the 600-store steak chain has allegedly given women and people of color preferential treatment in hiring.

DEI is not discriminatory. It provides training and mentoring so that disadvantaged groups get a fair shake. I don't have to explain this to you. But to answer your question: DEI does not violate federal law.

They are trying to attack the fiduciary responsibility of the Board and management to maximize shareholder value. There may be some federal law related to that but there are SEC regulations and civil litigation which are probably more pertinent.

They hope that by raising a stink over a fake issue, they can damage the brand enough to decrease share value and then to invoke the other things.
