(24,438 posts)They're going to count in secret and presto, New York and California lost 20 million people and 15 EVs while Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and South Carolina gained 15 EVs. It's going to be blatant on purpose, because the purpose is to let the blue states know that we no longer live in a Democracy.

(24,082 posts)A Census costs billions, and takes hundreds of thousands of temporary workers to complete.
The courts and congress will have something to say about that.
Even if started today, the census results wouldnt be ready to report until after the midterms, and making changes to Electoral votes and congressional seats before 2028 would still be a stretch.

An analysis on Daily Kos today suggests that, if somehow Trumps scheme succeeds, and a new census is completed not counting the undocumented, the GOP stands to lose seats.
