In the correct video, Winchester from MASH confronts an officer berating a stuttering wounded soldier.

What does it mean when a display of Kindness seems so uncommon?
I remember the hew and cry back in the early nineties when attempts were made to quell the bullying in schools. Shit-Talk-Radio was ablaze with Nattering Nabobs blithering about "fairness" and "Freedom" when schools started trying to socialize the children in their care and chastised this primitive and uncivilized behavior.
That was a warning as to the future of America. Welcome to "Lord of The Flies"!
Sometimes it feels like we need our Society to dissolve itself and start over. I think we are well on the way right now and I fear it because I'm not a killer.

I don't remember who put together the series based on the superb movie M*A*S*H, but to carry it on for so many episodes with the comings and goings of characters was incredible.

IANAP (I have nothing to do with psych), but Winchester seemed to exhibit a sensitivity to being out of his depth - his comfort level. Perhaps not "imposter syndrome" but overcompensating for an inability to interact comfortably with the other personnel. Most of the crew were thrown together and had to figure out how to interoperate. Versus a fairly high-ranking, supposedly talented medical professional brought in and having to fit in.

...nuff.

While I was watching it, it came back to me. Honoria (emphasis on second syllable and not the third like the dastardly Col. Flagg thought) stutters.

and Major Winchester was truly unique. Though he was often made the victim of Hawkeye and B.J.'s practical jokes, he was more than capable of giving as good as he got. I'm also a huge fan of the original movie.

As an aside, we saw Alan Alda five years ago at the dedication of Scripps Research in La Jolla, where he announced a partnership that will teach scientists how to communicate more effectively to the public and to other scientists. He was extremely interesting.
I noticed a few 'ticks' from him, but for the most part one would not have noticed.
