Information about which charities actually reach Gaza and the best ways to donate.
Gaza is in famine, UN agencies confirm that 100% of the population is in acute food insecurity. If massive amounts of aid is not allowed in, thousands more will starve in the coming weeks, donations can still make a difference but only if it goes to groups that are operational on the ground despite the blockade.
The charities that already have warehouses and staff inside Gaza can provide food and medicine quickly but organisations that rely on fresh permits and convoys get delayed.
These organisations are the fastest way for donations to help starving children and civilians:
1: Anera - Staff in Gaza that have pushed trucks across the crossings and served millions of meals since thanks to buying produce locally and driving their own fleet.
2: Doctors Without Borders - Their teams are still running the Al‑Zawaida field hospital and supporting emergency surgeries across the Strip.
3: Palestine Childrens Relief Fund (PCRF) - They have permanent office in Deir al‑Balah (In Gaza) that is distributing prosthetics and infant supplies daily. Their field workers also have reported continuous deliveries recently.
4: Islamic Relief - They have a network and houses of mosque kitchens which have provided more than 70 million meals and are still continuing to bulk cooking even after flour shortages by pivoting to water and hygiene kits when food stocks dip.
5: World Central Kitchen (WCK) - They have just recently restarted a kitchen in Deir al‑Balah last week which has restored capacity for up to 150,000 meals a day.
6: Medical Aid for Palestinians - Their teams are still servicing Nasser Hospital which is the souths last referral center, they have also recently just finished rebuilding maternity and neonatal wards in Gaza City.
7: International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - They operate a field hospital in Rafah which treats patients wounded from the conflict.
8: Action Against Hunger - Has teams of volunteers inside Gaza with operational clinics, providing a massive amount of food every day.
(Local charities)
9: Gaza Soup Kitchen - A kitchen operated by a group of locals still providing meals in Beit Lahia (North Gaza) when conditions in safe, note that North Gaza is hard to reach and is the hardest region to live in Gaza, so charity is especially important there.
10: Dahnoun Mutual Aid - Another group of locals operating in Beit Lahia (North Gaza), providing meals to people.
11: Reviving Gaza - Has volunteers in the ground working in Gaza, offering water and food.
(Recommended but with caveats)
12: World Food Programme (WFP) - Even though the majority of their convoys are being blocked by Israel, the WFP will be the only agency that can move food at the massive scale Gaza will need when Israel finally opens the crossings. Also, many other NGOs and especially UN organisations use WFP's trucks and flights for storage and transportation. So it's perfectly okay if you donate to the WFP if youre fine to accept some delay in exchange for helping the only organisation that can provide Gaza with hundreds of trucks when the crossings open, but if you'd like your donation for immediate assistance on the ground, the first 7 options do that.
13: UNICEF for Gazas Children - Runs distribution points for water and nutrition in Gaza, but all new cargo rides on WFP convoys so they are quite dependent on them, and the WFP have their own constraints that were explained just above this.
14: Palestinian Red Crescent - Provides emergency services such as ambulances and medical aid, the only problem is that its their ambulances are running out of fuel and will stop within a few weeks if Israel doesn't allow more fuel into Gaza.
15: Direct Relief - Shipped tons of medicines for trauma surgery and diabetes care, their issue is that their last convoy was from last year because they couldn't find space in the clearance window, but their supplies will start coming in when the crossings open. Their supplies are quite critical since they are specifically focusing on specialized medical care which the other organisations won't be prioritizing,
Here is a separate list for charities that have been throttled and DO NOT make much of an impact right now. These charities unfortunately and sadly had their effectiveness greatly reduced because of the Israeli government, their funds have either been frozen or their aid is getting blocked:
1: UNRWA - Hundreds of millions of dollars have been frozen after many donor states suspended funding over allegations such as Israel accusing their staff of aiding the October 7th attack.
2: Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) - Have said that it has not moved any tents or food into Gaza for 145 days and counting, even its staff are going hungry.
3: Save the Children - They have reported that their equipment and childrens nutrition supplies were denied entry at the crossings, publicly accusing Israel of obstruction.
4: Oxfam - They have had an entire warehouse of water and sanitation gear rejected by Israeli authorities now stockpiled in Al‑Arish (Egypt).
I just want to make sure people are not like me, and did not scan all these charities thinking they were all good ones to donate too- the top list is the ones you should donate to and the bottom list are ones that have been blocked by the Israeli government and are not as effective as they would normally be.
I know it says all that in the list, but I ended up scanning it too quickly and thinking hey were all supposed to be charities we should donate to, so I want to make sure that anyone that is like me does not get that mixed up- although maybe I am the only one since I have been kind of rushing to get everything out today.
Thank you to every human that cares about the situation and makes a donation- or even if you cannot afford one, just caring, talking about it, mailing your favorite subreddits and asking them to carry this message- it is all good. You are the people that give me hope when I have been watching too many war crimes and feeling hopeless. 🤍🍉🕊️

Note from that reddit
Q- How does his square with all the reporting that Israel is blocking aid and forcing the little they let in to be distributed through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation?
How are these groups receiving food and supplies? I assume Israel must be restricting the quantities theyre allowed to receive and subsequently distribute?
A- Anera, WCK, MSF, Islamic Relief, MAP, PCRF are all whitelisted and ICRC has immunity, so they don't have to go through GHF, they simply drive straight to their places inside Gaza. Aside from that, Anera get their supplies locally, so does WCK with their kitchen in Deir al‑Balah, they actually opened that kitchen BECAUSE of the pause.

(947 posts)Down the road, I want to know and believe that I did all I possibly could. It will be no use later weeping that we didn't do anything, or didn't do enough. Or worse, that we didn't know which is total bullshit because we all know.
If you've ever wondered what you would have done in place of your grandparents, now is the time to show it.

(947 posts)but I couldn't sign the pledge. That could be because of all the security on my computer though. You get a bit shy after seeing your real name and picture hatefully posted on that genocide supporting site Canary Mission
Thank you for prompting me to donate. My mom sent me some money for a nice birthday meal, but Gaza is more important.

(947 posts)I wonder if using a VPN would help. I'm sorry you have such a headache and hope you can get that resolved painlessly.
I'm usually in no position to donate money, but I lucked out thanks to my mom's generosity. I was planning on only giving $25 or even $50, but thinking of those kids killed me.
One great thing is that the tide is turning among Democrats and Republicans. This was posted in one of my reddit groups today and it did my heart good to see righteous people pushing back.
The boos were so loud, he had to cut off the town hall. "Two million people are starving in Gaza, what do you have to say" and either that monster or the moderator had the nerve to tell the man who asked that question to "I have to say shut up".
There were also shouts that "'You're not the right fit for us anymore"
Imagine that, people in both parties are demanding representation.

(947 posts)I had to do that once when I was in South America because my transactions kept triggering fraud alerts. What a pain. I'm so sorry. But thank you for doing all you do!

(947 posts)But you flatter me. I feel I should be doing so much more. There are so many brave, amazing people fighting for justice. I stand in awe of what they do. I'm so in awe of the doctors and other aid workers who risk their lives being there and then come back sharing the truth. And the journalists there! May the murdered ones all rest in peace. In solidarity with them and with you.
