He also speaks of "fought for" where the conjunction is or. This seems to mean he backs Putin's position of wanting the entire Donbass including areas he has failed to win.

This gives Putin more than he has been able to capture. Note that it also gets him past the reinforced line that they have not been able to break through .... meaning it leaves the interior of Ukraine less defended than they are now. There is no reason to think Putin stops there.

As Donbass contains the minerals the US wanted Ukraine to commit to giving them some ability to buy or sell, how much you want to bet Putin includes some of that to "buy" Trump? That and his bizarre assumption that he can call this a peace treaty and get a Nobel prize for this or a "treaty" solving the Israel/Palestine problem via removing Palestine from the area. aka ethnic cleaning.
