Odds American survives the next 3 years?

At the rate Trump's going after only 7 months in office what are the odds America survives the next 3 1/2 years?

The guy's mental illness is only getting worse. Nothing makes this guy happy. All the money and power in the world and he's still a sadistic man child.

After 10 years of dealing with this sick fu** the only thing I know for sure: all he cares about is staying in power and he's never going to give it up voluntarily.

His every action is motivated by keeping power and punishing anyone who threatens to take it away including the American voters.

If Democrats take back the House in 2026 I see Trump becoming even more cruel and spiteful. If he feels threatened or cornered there's no telling what he's capable of.

I'm trying really hard to maintain hope that his reign of terror will end in January 2029 but it's tough. I seriously doubt Trump and his MAGA cult is ever going to go away quietly. Trump can't imagine a life without being President. And his followers can't imagine having any other President than Donald Trump.

FIGHTm dammit! How old are you, anyway? I'm 83 and I WILL NOT QUIT! I'll go down fighting and so will a lot of us.

Anyway, he's going to be dead soon, and Shady will be a pretty damn ineffectual leader.

The physical territory will still be here, of course (unless Trump manages to get us nuked). By "survive" do you mean a functioning democracy? And what is meant by that? Elections that actually represent the will of the majority? They're already trying to kill that by redistricting wherever possible. Judges who follow the law? There are still plenty of those, but SCOTUS is iffy, at best, and could get even worse if some justices retire and Trump replaces them with stooges like Ho or Kacsmaryk. A Congress that finds a spine? Unless something changes I'm not hopeful that we will be a true democracy - it won't be North Korea but more like Hungary, a simulacrum of a democracy but not the real thing. But if Trump dies (please, God, are you listening?), the cult will not automatically attach itself to Vance, and there will be a power struggle within the GOP. This might give the Democrats a fighting chance to start a recovery.

Even if a stuffed and drugged version of him is still waddling around 3 years from now he won’t last long.

If, if, IF… the Dems can take control of the House…they will drive him completely bonkers shortening his time even more.

America will survive…it’ll need fixing…but it’ll be here. On the other hand….

He’ll stress out.

What is America? What is survival for America?

From what I see, we've already lost any pretense of democracy at the federal level, although some of the states still harbor remnants.

The Constitution, as law of the land, still exists but is rendered daily more irrelevant by an increasingly Trumpified justice system.

Our borders will still exist in 3 years. Our republic as we knew it, and the institutions it once protected and nurtured, well, much of that is already gone and the rest will disappear by next summer.

But I will not give up, I will always fight for our rights, vote only for the Democratic party. As a child of the 50's I've seen our politics swing to the left and now it is swinging to a hard right. It might take a while for things to even out again, but just teach your children well, as the song goes, so they and we don't forget what a true democracy is.

I give it 50/50 . Until I see more positive movement with this Supreme Court, and less election interference/rigging, etc.
Hate to say it but I never, ever thought we would be in the place we are now and there is no immediate signs of a change of direction.
Hope I’m wrong.

Land doesn't vote. The top map is a much more accurate representation of our country than the bottom map.

9. Obituary of Donald J. Trump
Sun Aug 10, 2025, 02:49 PM
Aug 2025

Convicted criminal, career money launderer, Russian asset, convicted rapist, master grifter, and reputed mobster, Donald "StinkyDollHands" Trump (P01135809), the Worst President in United States History, surprisingly died of complications due to a combination of an abrupt guilty conscience and terminal moral bankruptcy on [Date] at the age of [Age]. Trump's normally bloated, morbidly obese, lifeless body, found by his then, male odor wife, Malaria, was slumped over his fabled Gold-plated toilet, and dressed in what appeared to be WWII-era German Lederhosen. His hands were still desperately clutching a first edition, autographed copy of Mein Kampf. . Trump's death truly marked the end of a criminalized, tumultuous and polarizing era/error in American politics.

.

Donald J. Trump's Epitaph:

.

There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile,

.

He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile;

.

He wed a pornstar cat that caught a crooked rat,

.

And they all lived together in a little crooked shack.

All I see is America losing its superpower status, going bankrupt, massive societal implosion, mass dire poverty, third world status, everything that entails when an empire collapses. Possibly a Mad Max world.
