Somebody had sued in state court regarding 14th amendment disqualification for federal office.

The court ruled, with 2 liberals concurring, and the other only partially dissenting, that the suit should have been brought in federal court, to determine disqualification for the presidency nationwide, rather than have 50 suits in state courts to disqualify Trump on a state by state basis - imagine the chaos in that scenario, as red states disqualified Biden in retaliation.

without thinking of the possible consequences when the pendulum swings back,
as it always does....

My childhood best friend, a Republican with whom I often talked politics
once made this observation, during the Shrub administration:

"Yeah, the Democrats 'spend like drunken sailors',
but now the Republicans are spending 'like drunken Democrats'!"---
and stated that they were "lowering the bar" for deficit spending....
(while claiming to want to 'balance the budget')

Republicans have now been "lowering the bar" for political persecution,
respect for the rule of law and for the truth---
and I hope Democrats will make them PAY for it when we get the chance!

FUCK this "look to the future" nonsense---
there can be no future without prosecuting the criminals of the present!

And frankly, I have often said that Democrats don't LIE enough----
but we don't have to, now, the TRUTH is bad enough---
That the Republican Party is FULL OF PEDOPHILES,
and PEDOPHILE APOLOGISTS!!!

But do our Democratic politicians USE THAT???
NO!!!!! because they are too fucking 'polite'

Scott Pressler has set up camp in NJ. He's the second coming of Roger Stone. He turned (cheated) PA for Krasnov The Rapist.

In 1981, Stone sent out 'Flying Squads' to intimidate and terrorize Black voters. Kean Sr. won by1,797 votes in a recount.

Are you familiar with this history?

Also - Shelby v Holder in 2013 says the magapubs can do it again.

Are you POSITIVE that they will not scrub anyone who is not a magapub from the voter rolls in NJ or VA this year?

What leads you to believe that everyone will be allowed to vote?

Do you have insider info from the magapub party you can share here?

Indeed, chicanery and subterfuge will be attempted, but success is not guaranteed.

I follow Marc Elias and his Democracy Docket newsletter for the latest on anti-voter actions by state and federal governments, as well as the legal challenges to protect the vote.

Much will unfold between now and November 2028, but one thing is certain: Trump will not be president after January 20, 2029.

Don’t give in to the mythology that Trump is omnipotent and the states and the people are powerless- that is a form of subtly surrendering in advance.

In NJ - a northern state held to the same standards as Mississippi and Alabama until Shelby V Holder.

I also follow and subscribe to the Democracy Docket.

One thing we know when we look at Fascism in Italy and it's true point of beginning (1925) is that it was a 6 month slide until the Black Shirts took over. My husband's family were fascists and their descendants - including him -

Are hitting the alarm.

Where I sit in Amerikkka? It's always been bullshit, it has never been equal opportunity and from the very beginning it started with the subjugation of human beings.

We have to agree to disagree. Your family history may very well differ from mine. And so you have experienced America as the land of the free and the home of the brave. Others not so much.

You can find my husband's Zio Nicolo all over pictures with Beni. A week after the 2016 election he told my Giovanni "Come home now and bring your pretty American wife with you. Now." He died a few years ago.

He had seen some shit in his life.

I believe him. I believe the man who set up the fake concentration camp in Calabria to punk the Nazis and was heralded as a Great Partisan, Senator for life . . . That's who I believe.

You are attempting to portray my words as implying voting rights is a tangential issue (as in, unimportant and unworthy of discussion at all ), which, if not an attack, is a ham handed attempt to smear me.

that's the somewhat less likely result.

I think the most likely result is JD becomes the puppet and the campaign is "vote for JD and drumpf will still basically be president".

and Miller will continue running the country.

drumpf has always been the useful idiot for Miller's fascist agenda. Miller can't get elected which is why they use the racist senile old fool to fire up MAGA but Miller is drumpf's real handler and calls the shots. drumpf has no real idea what is going on around him. Miller carefully controls the information drumpf gets so drumpf will support every policy Miller wants.
