(19,983 posts)is animal abuse. K9's are expensive too, you'd think the department would have a bit to say about this as well, since a fully trained dog is an asset.

(2,264 posts)Especially given her breaking into the car was opening an unlocked door. I'm glad I live in a civilized state that protects even normal people for breaking into a car to save an animal from overheating to death. South Carolina should be ashamed that they don't have such a law. That family doesn't deserve to have the dog.

(2,264 posts)I said my state protects my right to smash a car window to rescue a dog.
The cop being a jerk isn't what I'm that concerned about. In this case he was just a jerk with no violence. The dog on the other hand could easily have been baked to death.

(135,250 posts)dealing with the morans who left children or animals in their cars in the casino parking lot while they were inside gambling, too cheap or stupid to hire sitters. Security would break a window on the car, even if it was unlocked. Children were put into care with CPS, and animals taken to the Humane Society. It took a hearing before a judge to get children back, and huge fines to the Humane Society, if they were even allowed to get their animal back. Plus the expense of the broken window, and a record. Sitters were much cheaper.

(135,250 posts)that they never returned to that particular casino. The man who owned it, one of the very last of the individual owners, had a private motto that the customer was always wrong. His view was that if the customer had a working brain, they would not be in his casino, handing him their money. And, unlike the corporate casinos, he treated his employees decently.
