(7,305 posts)For one thing, Indiana is not shown in his graphic, and it's been all over the news as the next in line after Texas.

Kentucky has Rethug supermajorties in both chambers, so it could put the one Dem US House seat we have at risk as they can override a Beshear veto.
That's 16 potential less Dem seats as well, but New Hampshire for sure will not do it, so 14.
Wisconsin (2 Dem House seats) and North Carolina (4 Dem House seats) both lost their Rethug supermajorties, so those 6 Dem seats should be safe as they cannot override an Evers nor a Cooper veto.

(53,445 posts)so NC can do so but there is only one target and it is a VRA district and our circuit isn't as out of line as the one Texas is in. Dems have 4 districts, three of which are Democratic vote sinks (Alma Adams plus 24 also VRA, Deborah Ross plus 17, and Valorie Foushee plus 23). That leaves Don Davis (my Congressman) in a R plus 1 but still from a historically VRA district in the east. It would be easy to make his district more Republican (he borders a R plus 10 and a R plus 8 and is close to a R plus 7). But if they make that district too White it will get blocked in court.

(53,445 posts)frankly we could well lose seats there even without a redraw. We hold an even district, a R plus 3, and a D plus 3. But that said, they also hold a couple (a R plus 3 and a R plus 5).
