Epstein Gate Is Almost Finished

80 threads right now on DU's front page, and only 2 about Epstein and one of the 2 is just a note that Krasnov is copying Epstein's interior decorating..

So, really only one thread out of 80 and it is about to go off the front page.

Those who loathe Trump do not need further cause it is all about finding new recruits. The Epstein episodes are old it is a miracle it came back.

3. I'm both surprised it has lasted so long and not convinced it is over

On the first, I'm surprised because from his 2016 inappropriate comments about teen beauty contestants and Ivanka, access Hollywood and the various.Epsyein photos and video taped Trump comments, nothing we learned this year is new.

The reason I don't think it is over is Comet is not very smart and has subpoenaed so many people, though not Acosta and the AG at the time. He thinks going after the Clintons on this is smart. I think, it keeps it in the news and I bet especially Hillary Clinton will not be a witness he can handle.

Where there is danger to the Trump administration is not just the illusive potential of actually proving Trump was involved, but the more likely questions on why Acosta and FL officials tried to protect not just him but others involved. I suspect any investigation will find find threads unravelling as you pull on anything.

I was with a group of neighbors the night Access Hollywood broke, we all thought he would be out as the nominee by the end of the week or at least HRC would win in a landslide
( This was Burlington, Vt) After January 6, I thought he might win a primary, but that "same" Republicans would vote against him. Well, we saw there were very few of them! I say this because my track record predicting Trump is abysmal.

But, I do think it possible that something or the weight of everything might splinter the Republicans.

but I guess they chickened out. MFers.

Still there's the drumbeat of just "release the files", which will dog this administration as long as they are not released.

5. Typical big news cycle lasts about seven days.

'A typical big news story in 2018 lasted about 7 days (until we moved on to the next crisis)'

"Afew things past research has told us about news cycles and lifespans:"

"— Bad news seems to go away faster than good news, according to a group of Cornell researchers looking at tweets in 2011:"

"We find that the rapidly-fading information contains significantly more words related to negative emotion, actions, and more complicated cognitive processes, whereas the persistent information contains more words related to positive emotion, leisure, and lifestyle."

"— Mainstream media and blogs trade off focus on a particular story in a 'heartbeat-like pattern' "

"We find that the peak of news-media attention of a phrase typically comes 2.5 hours earlier than the peak attention of the blogosphere. Moreover, if we look at the proportion of phrase mentions in blogs in a few-hour window around the peak, it displays a characteristic 'heartbeat'-type shape as the meme bounces between mainstream media and blogs."

"— You can figure out the eventual reach of an individual story much more effectively by looking at social media reactions than pageviews."

"We describe the interplay between website visitation patterns and social media reactions to news content…We also find that social media reactions can help predict future visitation patterns early and accurately."

6. Why don't Congressional Democrats do town halls
Mon Aug 11, 2025, 08:26 AM
Aug 2025

especially in red districts? Not town halls where the Rep stands behind a dais and takes questions, town halls that put faces to the issue, to the victims?

There are victims who would participate, there are lawyers of victims who would participate, there are families of victims who would participate, there may even be former prosecutors who would participate, there may even be former heads of the federal Bureau of prisons participate?

That mean old MSM that lets stories die is a nice scapegoat. Democrats don't have to let it die.

Hold town halls based only on Epstein Gate. The MSNBC town hall that put faces on the fired government workers was riveting.

The local Fox News affiliates would cover those town halls. These town halls need to be organized by Schumer and Jeffries. I get a dozen texts every day asking for campaign money, send me a text that helps fund a town hall based on Epstein and I will donate 100 bucks.

Aug 2025

Per "How to succeed in politics business without really trying" ...

WHERE ARE THE REAL EPSTEIN FILES BURIED?

• Under the new, improved "cement rose garden"?
• Chez Ivana, on the 19th hole?
• In a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnalls' front porch?
• In a bunker under Moscow?
• In the Washington DC sewage treatment plant?
• Somehere in Area 51?

May OP this.

11. Here's some new Epstein info which is pretty gross and ripe

Wolff: This is a key issue right now in the way the White House is looking at the Epstein scandal.

The fear is that Ghislaine Maxwell can tie Donald Trump to the details of what Trump and Epstein called the P*ssy Committee.

The Committee consisted of their efforts to get girls for Prince Andrew.
