(sometimes thousands) as a teacher on supplies. I did this while struggling to survive on a teacher's pay in Silicon Valley. Wasn't fun, but I guess I saw it as my "duty", and in the end, it was worth it to provide the best education I could to the students in my impoverished district. I can totally see the other side though.
