The Dem response I want to see

Not these measured , long, academic statements on his DC takeover.

This:

"HE IS FUCKING NUTS!" "HE IS A FUCKING DICTATOR WHO IS DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY" "THIS IS PURE, UNADULTERATED FASCISM!!" "THIS IS THE ACT OF SOMEONE WHO THINKS HE IS KING" "HE IS SHITTING ON ALL OF US AND WIPING HIS ASS WITH THE CONSTITUTION"

Starting from 28:44 to the end, it shows the pretty scary moves being made through deepfakes to normalize the very idea of fascism and the violence behind it.

Quoting the narrator at the 28:44 point...
"... Everything is ... spectacle, masking politics through optics and emotionalization in order to make it suitable for mass consumption.
We truly live in the dumbest timeline imaginable... Turning everything into ironic movable content has made everything meaningless. The restraints on fascist rhetoric are gone.
The previously unthinkable is now normalized.
No shame. No consequences. And No wonder no one takes you seriously when you call something fascist.
Because you're right -- it has lost its meaning.
Which is the point.

However anyone who watched this video all the way to 28:44 is already "sold" on the idea of fascism.

Literally every other American who's not brainwashed by Chump would have bailed on this tape in the first five minutes. I give you credit for hanging in and watching the entire thing. I wouldn't have, I can promise you.

I encourage you to watch the rest. The first 24 mins were just history that we've all been well aware of since the days of 4 Chan and QAnon.

From 28:44 to the end is what that means to the rest of us who never bought into "right wing power irony."

My point is that yes, we have an emotionalized society who'd rather follow a strongman than exert responsibility as citizens -- until he comes for them and/or their families, and then as usual, they learn the hard way -- when it's too late.

So, all I'm saying is that the rest of this video is exactly what the rest of the country can be taken in by, unawares. Because it's spectacle. Trump is, as you know, at this very minute, presenting the spectacle of menace. If we don't help them "get it," soon, we'll lose them to its spell, and we won't get their votes.

but I think they could do the same thing without profanity. He's insane! He's a dictator who is destroying the country! He wants to rule all of us like a King and take away our rights! Everything he is doing is against the Constitution! That would be just as powerful and the blue language would not distract from the message. Just my opinion.

I think the profanity turns off a lot of people. Caps, exclamation points, and passionate verbiage add enough emphasis, IMHO.

I was thinking more of verbal communication. I think it's a personal thing. I'm not easily offended and I think the younger generation is more accepting of the use of profanity and doesn't seem so interested in propriety, so I think it can provide emphasis in certain circumstances.

Have a great evening!

No one who does not run for office is allowed to express an opinion! How are we supposed to fight authoritarianism if we if don't put some very heavy restrictions on dissent?

because there is nothing right now that will stop them.
But we need an overwhelming victory at the polls in 2026, and as long as people see the Democrats as weak and feckless, that will not happen.
