Yahoo finance headline: "Tariffs bring in record $27.7 billion in July as Trump calls haul 'incredible for our country'

Of course what is missing from that headline, and from the article is where did that record tariff revenue come from?

Of course the answer is consumers and companies. It is a tax on the consumer and companies.

It sure isn't paying down the deficit either.

It has been clear for several months that much of the US media is in the bag for trump.

and when things finally hit the fan, and it will, whether during his term, or someone else, there will be a very heavy price to pay.

Gee, wonder who will get the largest amounts?

So, if this happened, they’d give people money to make up for some of the increased prices that are coming. Enough to make it net zero? I doubt it.

All that has to be paid back to the companies that were taxed.
