usually if you ask experts why an empire fell they’ll say it’s nuanced and multifaceted, so i think it’s kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like “oh they took the idiot train to moronsville”

Sustained and well financed campaigning and fearmongering got us to this point where people don’t know the truth and think they are the patriots while tearing the system down.

Many places seem much happier once they've given up their imperial ambitions. Or even if they never had any.

I don't disagree that the US is currently the dumbest country on the planet, but maybe maintaining an "empire" or some soft version of "global leadership" shouldn't be the goal.

Justice matters.

"that all men are created equal"

And later in the text:

"with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"

The problem is, these truths (without the "Creator" fairy tale) where never truly applied in 249 years and a month.

On edit: And women were not mentioned (as in not equal?)...

during the final months of the run up to the election, that he "Loved the Un-educated that were voting for him"....love them, love them, love them.
And the un-educated loved the fact that he recognized them outright for being willfully stupid/ignorant......

more than a few times.

It's hard to believe such a large nation with so many smart people boarded that train, but at the moment, it looks like that may be the case.

Anyway, snipping this and sending it to my friends, particularly the historian types.

The Government must pay thru the nose for mistakes of the past. These are the Ross Piero giant sucking sound and the selling America down the river to 🇨🇳 empowering a oriental despot. The whole thing seems dumber than a box of rocks

You took the idiot train to moransville
And they met you at the station
You got there the 6th of January
Because you've made your reservation

My God you're slow
Oh, no, no, no
Oh, no, no, no

You left here in the morning
And I won't see you again
We'll have no more nights together
'Cause your hatred fried my brain

You had to go
Oh, no, no, no
Oh, no, no, no
I know that I'll never let you come home

Take the idiot train to moransville
They're waiting at the station
You'll have time to Heil your Shitler
And a bit of MAGA hatred

Oh, no, no, no
Oh, no, no, no
I know that I'll never let you come home

...across the continent. Many people got on looking for a better way of life and more opportunities.

The railroad the idiot train of today runs on was built by billionaires. People are getting on because the billionaires have used their immense wealth to feed them lies about how great things will be when they make it to Moronsville--a company town created only to make the billionaires even wealthier and the population even more dependent on the billionaires.

There are no return tickets from Moronsville.
