I hope Trump gives a "Checkers" speech after Uncle Elon leaks the Epstein files.
There are so many scenarios that could play out if Trump ever met his match and it all came down like a fucking avalanche.
I remember the Nixon "Checkers" speech. You can see what he's feeling, and using whatever self-control he had to dial back his anger and any other negative emotions he was dealing with. The message was basically "this isn't fair," but it is SUCH a mild, diluted form of Trump's own "WITCH HUNT! RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA!" rants.
Maybe, if Trump's day of reckoning came, he'd finally be speechless, and we wouldn't hear anything.
Maybe he'd make Jack Nicholson careening through the maze at the end of The Shining yelling "I'M COMIN' FOR YA DAN!" look like an episode of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
I don't know. The only time in our generation that we saw a leader walk away in disgrace and humiliation was with Richard Nixon.
I do hope we get to see the Trump variation, and that's the last we see and hear of him, which is pretty much how it went with Nixon when he flashed those peace signs and boarded Marine One for the final time.
