Replenishing water stations in desert with Humane Borders
For over 25 years, the Humane Borders Organization has worked to provide clean and safe drinking water to people in the desertTUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The remains of 65 people have been found in the Sonoran Desert this year, according to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.
For more than 25 years, volunteers with the Humane Borders have worked to decrease that number. They frequently travel into the desert to provide clean, safe drinking water to anyone who might need it.
Every day, three trucks transport 250 gallons of water into the desert, ready to replenish as many water drums as possible.
