We needed somebody strong to take on Trump. He'll give it right back to Trump and Trump knows it.

abbott's not letting Texas voters weigh-in and I'm not 100% confident in elections right now.

Just saying. When we talk about "fighting fire with fire" it means not giving the opposition an opening to derail us.

10. When you are at war, some laws go out the window

Which is why murder is legal at that point. In my opinion. We are at war with russia, and people helping russians. They have brainwashed our family and friends. It is time people wake up, and we deal with this now, or we lose.

It's literally in the state constitution from a proposition voters passed a few cycles back. So it can't be ignored - it has to be more or less repealed by us first.

12. I noticed something in the video

At the beginning of the video there is a wide-screen shot of the podium. I couldn’t see and teleprompters in sight.

I good to see someone who can speak in compete sentences and explain in simple terms what and why this is happening.

I live in California and I was a bit leery of this action but after hearing Newsom’s agreement I’m behind it 100%.

16. Full transcripts take a while. Most video media don't provide them. Later you might check https://www.gov.ca.gov, or

ask Google: "Transcript" of Gov Gavin Newsom's "speech" August 14 2025?? -- and see what its AI can lead you to.

14. I didn't see a presser. At what part did the press come in?

Did your headline really mean press conference (aka presser)?
If not, it seems as if 'CA Democratic leadership to GOTV in November rally' would be more accurate.
Just a suggestion.

15. Is it significant that this event was carried live on PBS?

At least there was a PBS watermark on the video.

As Janis Joplin said, freedom is nothing else to lose. Let's hope that PBS is finally deciding to give up their both-siderism instincts now that the fascists has removed essentially all the funding. They no longer have to treat the fascists as a legitimate point of view for fear of losing funding.

They often carry live pressers during the day, as well as coverage of congress when they are having important sessions.

by ending their both-siderism and aggressively reporting the truth.

I am not that hopeful, because in the absence of government funding they are likely to prioritize corporate funding even more.
