My $0.02 on Newsom and colleagues' press-conference

Big time kudos to them with the presentation and build up to the governor's talk at the end. Sen Schiff was impressive as always and the Democratic rep that spoke a few persons before (African American gentleman originally from TX) was impressive too - really liked his 'it's time to take the fight' attitude.

Gov. Newsom impressed me as being quite 'presidential' - I was personally reminded of seeing then-Senator Obama speaking at the DNC way back when....

Real leaders helping our country with this 'break glass' moment for our country....

Donnie is probably changing his diaper now before firing off an all-caps social media post soon before he heads to Alaska to try and give that beautiful state away to a russian dictator.

If voting weren't so important, why do repukes fight so hard to make it difficult to vote?

Newsoms Social Media Manager is going to light his ass up. Let him!

I just need people to understand - we don't need soul mates right now.

We need fighters on ALL fronts. Newsom is one of them. Mad respect for this speech today.

It seems that Newsom quickly learned the lesson that Americans are damn well pissed and don't want any more capitulation. We want fighters, and nothing but fighters. I am glad that Newsom seems to have made a quick course change. Even the best politicians read the room wrong sometimes. But the good ones learn from that and get connected with the people, pronto.

There are a bunch of other Dems who are still trying to sit on the fence. No more. The time is now for people to either join the fight or get out of the way.

this was, in part, donnie's 'hey look at me' moment for attention during the informative press conference. Gov. Newsom called 'em out too.

... do everything in their power to sabotage people's voting rights because they have ALWAYS hated democracy. This goes back to the bankers revolt in 1933 when they wanted to overthrow FDR ( Dubya's grandpappy was reportedly one of 'em!) and the tried to enlist General (ret.) Smedley Butler to do the wetwork. Instead, he dropped a dime on 'em, and detailed their plot in a Congressional hearing.
But the rich have always had a fifth ace up their sleeve, and of course, nothing was done, because of course the rich are more important than mere democracy, God damn their evil souls to Hell.
Now they don't even make a pretense of supporting democracy. They screech fascist talking points every chance they get, because they think they're gonna get away with this shit.
Guess again, assholes.

I've never undertstood the reasons. They're vague when I ask. I hope they're not representative because I think he has a real chance of winning in 2028.

Of course, everthing can change when primary season gets going. Sometimes, someone no one had been paying attention to gallops to the front of the pack.

My niece consistently voted against Nancy Pelosi when she lived in SF.

There's a lot of enmity to Newsom here at DU, too. They're just quiet today, for some reason...
