Russia's petroleum product exports increased in early August despite Ukrainian drone strikes on the country's refineries.

Fuel oil typically requires less processing and the elevated exports may reflect a slowdown in secondary refining processes. The market relies on seaborne oil shipments as one of the few indicators of Russia’s oil production, since official data is classified. Crude exports edged down but stayed within normal levels, with little immediate impact from tariff risks.
