I'm a nervous wreck. Just Fedexed my passport to a visa service.
I am now back in the US without a way to escape. The service is supposed to take 4 business days to process. Spent a fortune on express processing and overnight FedEx delivery both ways.
I have to fly back to Costa Rica the day after we close on US house sale.
I discovered I couldn't get a Chinese visa in Costa Rica as the consulate was closed, so came back here.
