Trump rolled out the red carpet for Putin; literally put him on a pedestal, and got jack shit for it

...so it ended up being nothing but a self-inflicted humilation to the president and the country as Trump elevated the Russian dictator: a war criminal who would otherwise be arrested and jailed in 123 different countries if he set foot on their soil.

All of the bragging during the election that he was going to end the genocide of Ukrainians by Putin 'on day one' - Ukraine defending themselves against Russia's unprovoked attacks which Trump called a 'war,' and all he's done is pal around with yet another murderer he's let into America.

No ceasefire agreement; no admonitions from Trump against the continued targeting and killing of Ukrainian civilians by Russia; and still no sanctions at all from Trump for Putin violating the last supposed ceasefire agreement.

“We haven’t quite gotten there, but we’ve made some headway,” Trump said during the joint appearance. “There’s no deal until there’s a deal.”

But that's been the case, all along. 'There's nothing until there's something,' says the befuddled and deflated pretender who had no actual end game to his cosplay diplomacy; offering up a fractured idiom, like dementia-sufferers use to bridge conversations when they've lost the thread.

What Trump did succeed in doing was provide the Russian dictator's media with talking points as he elevated the war criminal to the level of a foreign dignitary today, instead of treating him like a U.S. pariah adversary actively engaged in the deliberate killing of our ally's civilians.

"The Western media in a state that can be described as insanity bordering on complete madness, for three years, they have been reporting on Russia's isolation, but today they witnessed the red carpet that greeted the Russian President in the United States," Putin's spokesperson said afterward in a statement published by Russian state media.

...and this absurd photo-op in front of a backdrop reading 'pursuing peace.'

For decades afterward, it's been shorthand for 'appeasements' to reference Neville Chaimberlain giving Hitler what he wanted as he continued, undeterred by sops, to invade Poland.

"After years of methodically capitulating to the territorial demands of the Fuhrer in an effort to attenuate the widely-perceived punitive excesses of the Treaty of Versailles (1919), Hitler remained insatiable in his desire for vengeance and world conquest. The principle architect of the policy of appeasement, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, entered the House of Commons and angrily denounced Hitler stating “the responsibility for this terrible catastrophe lies on the shoulders of one man – the German Chancellor, who has not hesitated to plunge the world into misery in order to serve his own senseless ambitions.” Members of Parliament cheered at his long-awaited defiance. One day later, however, Chamberlain backtracked and indicated the resumption of appeasement by endorsing a diplomatic initiative floated by fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini to resolve the crisis.

But, Trump's obsequiousness to Putin is about something other than policy, which he can't fathom from one minute to the next because, he doesn't read anything and gets all of his information from Stephen Miller in one ear and Laura Loomer in the other.

Today, Trump led the nation to Alaska on another of his fantasy plays; public displays of totalitarianism and authoritarianism based on obvious and transparent lies; and try as he might by being giddy and touchy-feely with Putin on the tarmac, he couldn't manufacture up a closing act to match all of the grandstanding insistence he's been making that he alone can solve this or that.

Trump's hoping we won't notice that he's being Chamberlained along by Putin; appeasement after appeasement as Russia continues to attack the democratically-governed country of Ukraine without any substantive response or sanction from the leader of the erstwhile free world.'

We've all been played today, right along with Trump getting played by Putin. Every time he takes us to these invented places in his addled mind, all we find when we arrive is the desolate and abandoned parking lot of Trump's demented brain.

And he's promised us a second act on this one, musing about accepting his mentor's offer to meet in Russia (no, the real one, this time).

He's already working on the script.

The piece of shit on the other hand I am sure received some sort of financial reward under the table or promise of something in the future that will make the piece of shit richer than he already is from stealing from the American people.

I politely use the word correction, you know what I mean, not criticizing you at all of course.

We just need to remember he NEVER EVER not EVER in his lifetime EVER does anything that doesn’t benefit him EVER not EVER.

Did I mention he never ever does anything unless it benefits him?

Depressed, humiliated and wobbled like a toddler on the red carpet. I hope he cries all night! But tomorrow he will look for people to take it out on.

Boneheaded voters, learn from this!: You can't put someone in as president with as many skeletons in the closet as trump has.
Plain and simple, he's a criminal.

(I'm sorry, this was 2 months ago. I thought it was from today).

You Republicans really backed a winner. I'm conflicted. To root for the Felon's failure is to root against my country.
There has to be a better way. I will root for the I.C.C.. Someday they'll get him and hopefully our Felon too, along with Netanyahu.

He should have turned Putin over to the ICC…

That move could have won him some respect…

He could have done the same w/ Bibi…

But no…

Krasnov has a soft soft in his cold, hard heart for war criminals who have kompromat on him…

He is the ultimate cartoon villain come to life. No way he would ever do the right thing.
Nice, optimistic thought, though.

F-35s shake the building here when they take off, and I'm a good mile from the runway. I can't imagine being parked in a stadium or being out in the open, red carpet or not, and having one buzz the area, Plus, they also got buzzed by B-1 bombers. I don't know if it was Putin or one of his doubles, but apparently the guy ducked a few times.

They knew going in they were going to get jack shit. The Russians, however, had a team that was top heavy with financial people, and I think they were hoping for some concessions on sanctions for another bogus cease fire. I'm hoping they didn't get jack shit, either.

13. Q: Why did Putin have the presidential seal on his podium?

Aug 2025

I didn’t watch the Putin love fest from his puppet Krasnov, however, every channel had it on and at the moment I was channel surfing I noticed that there were 2 presidential seals on them.

I suppose that kinda proves the report that Krasnov IS a Russian asset and Putin is the real president of the United States. We already knew that the first time 45 stole the 2016 election.

Now, an interesting thing about this is I had planned to attach a photo of them standing behind the podium, I could not find one single shot. I did find a video on msn and at the 13 sec mark and the 49 sec mark they are standing behind the podiums.

I finally found a photo. It doesn’t have the official seal, but nevertheless it shouldn’t be on putins podium, period!

How Trump ended up in front of a presidential seal doctored to include a Russian symbol
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/07/25/how-did-trump-end-up-front-presidential-seal-doctored-include-russian-symbol/

...it think it's standard practice for the seal to be on the visiting head of state's podium, though (cheked Biden's).
