It gave me a feeling I've never had before, watching that post meeting presser, or whatever it was. Trump absolutely did look like he had been crying. He clearly was congested. It was different than pre interviews and post interviews, where no such sickness appeared. I don't know what that was. I doubt it was crying, because rump isn't capable of that. Just very strange.
Also, Putin himself looked like death warmed over. He looked ashen to me. The whole scene was very unreal. Maybe Putin told rump he is dying and rump cried. What's the world to do.
Putin said twice that Ukraine and the European leaders had better not interfere with what Putin and trump had agreed to do. This alone tells us that we aren't going to like whatever it is.
If rump agreed to give up rare earth deposits in our country, I hope that a very big protest is made. Bigger than big. Rump is clearly in over his head. But Putin spoke about the historical aspects of Alaska, and I didn't like hearing that. It is absurd to think that they sold Alaska to us and now claim it belongs to them.
Ukraine did not start this war. We held Ukraine back while they begged for munitions, a no fly zone, and then we prevented them from knocking out any Russian assets that were within Russian territory. No aggressive country has had it so good. And now Russia is still threatening us against helping Ukraine.
We do not have to restore any relationship with Russia. We should maintain sanctions. And, what of Russian Olicharch visas? I don't think that Russians should receive visas of any kind to visit our territory. I guess Donald is still hawking such money making items, and this must have been discussed.
Trump just repeats and repeats the age old smoozy "We were a dying country and now, under trump, we are hot." That is so silly. I think it is reversed. We were doing good under Biden, but rumpy is driving us into a depression.
Well, the whole thing was very strange. Nothing accomplished.

(8,180 posts)A show without substance.
A blip on the media radar, a distraction from Epstein, ICE, and all the other batshit insane bad shit happening.
History tells me a man will be judged by his actions, not his words.
Both Trump and Vlad fail badly on that score.
While they were so close together, a well aimed bolt of lightning would have been nice. Or those Jewish space lasers.
Alas, opportunity squandered!

(5,119 posts). . . a certain Mideast leader without beforehand having reached agreement on at least some substantive issue.
Having diplomats hammer out agreement on some detail before the happening of a summit has been the traditional way these events occur. In this case, no pre-summit accord on any detail was reached. What resulted was Putin stating in the post-summit presser that Russia was a good neighbor to the U.S. and that there is brotherly relationship between Russia and Ukraine. It was an opportunity for Putin to spout lies to a worldwide audience. The U.S. got nothing in return.
