ICE violently knocked him to the ground and pounced on him.
I admit not knowing any of the story--but this is violence@@

(11,685 posts)of that is to make everyone afraid to speak up, protest, or even show up. How many will just stay home in fear? That's the goal.

(2,275 posts)fired the rubber bullets directly at the Black Lives Matter peaceful protest in Denver, despite the manufacturers warning that they should be fired at the ground so they would bounce and hit the person's legs.
They also fired the rifle launched tear gas canisters at people's faces. One individual was hit in the face with a rifle launched tear gas canister, breaking bones in his face, and permanently blinding him in one eye.........
The honorable Colorado State Patrolmen, positioned themselves between the protestors and malicious DPD, and told the protestors to run to prevent the cruelty they were seeing by the DPD..............
The Denver City Council is paying out MILLIONs in lawsuits for the DPD's horrific actions in that confrontation of the peaceful protestors....................

(26,836 posts)Nor did I know that's what your supposed to do re: rubber bullets (not that I think they're are a good thing). And tear gas canisters at people's faces? WTF?!!
Thank goodness some Honorable CSP stood between them for protection, and told them to run! You don't hear something like that very often! Wow.

(26,836 posts)I was 15. We were on vacation. One the beach during the day, and an amusement park one night.
But at night my liberal Dem parents, my younger sister, and I watched the Convention.
I remember Sen Abraham Ribacoff telling Mayor Daley off from the podium!
Please tell me some about your experience.

(3,092 posts)I always call neutral when videos cut everything leading up to the focus of these short clips.
I'm not saying this was justified, I'm saying someone needs to show me the entire context before I buy in. Was he throwing rocks at them before this? Waving a weapon? Lighting shit on fire? Or was he really just standing there the whole time doing nothing wrong? We can't tell from this video. and I certainly don't just take the video posters word for it anymore.
We have to stop falling for this stuff, at least until we see the entire event and can verify things. I've been fooled too many times and it won't happen anymore.

(39 posts)He may have thrown rocks or yelled obscenities but those criminals with badges certainly seemed to be using excessive force. I was in law enforcement for 31 years and worked with co-workers who wanted to 'waste' the persons we investigated for flouting federal tax laws. While we were forbidden to carry guns some agents did so illegally. I do not recall any instances that an agent shot someone, but as Donny would say, their weapons were locked and loaded. Such tough talk from a cowardly draft dodger who has disrespected our troops killed in action as well as the police brutalized on January 6, 2021.
Despite what I just said your point is well taken that we need to see the entire video before passing final judgment.

(3,092 posts)do wish we had the entire video. We need to expose abuse and get serious about it. But the fact that this is cut so short makes it a huge red flag unfortunately.

I don't care if (R)'s scream high hell about weaponizing the government because they are only going after (R)'s, because the (R)'s are the only ones committing high crimes.
Lots of norms will now have to codified into law, like the DOJ independence.
I can't wait for this reckoning to occur, the sooner the better.

Make no mistake. These are Nazis. And they are being funded with our money.
