his swollen ankles. That was the biggest tell over the last month that he is very unwell.

and can lead to congestive heart failure. A swollen face and ankles are potential indicators that a persons body is retaining too much fluid. Fluid retention can sometimes be a sign of a serious medical issue.

A high sodium diet can contribute to fluid retention as well and can lead to high blood pressure. I was told to cut back on my salt intake way back in the 1990s because I had high-blood pressure fairly young due to a combination of genetics and unhealthy eating habits.

I am not a doctor by any means, but have learned over the years because of my own high BP, and family history.

So I think it's possible that given his unhealthy diet issues and temperament, tsf, might be a candidate for these issues as well.
