(60,078 posts)Hope no one here posts one of those "There it is. The antisemitism," posts that seem to come along anytime anyone says Netanyahu is wrong.

(4,418 posts)I truly hope that it has some impact on the genocidal loonies running the Israeli government.
I would be more heartened, however, if the protests were not just about saving the hostages but also in solidarity with suffering Palestinians. Against the starvation, the plans for ethnic cleansing, the indiscriminate killing and senseless destruction.
When the protests include that solidarity I see more chance of stopping the genocide AND saving the hostages. Until the goals of the majority of Israelis vis a vis Palestine and Palestinians are diametrically opposed to those of Netanyahu et al - I don't see hope for salvation of either Palestinians or the hostages. Sadly.

(27,329 posts)Oct 7 obviously never should have happened.
I also wish if they're are not protesting about the starvation as well would do so.

(4,418 posts)The protests are to save the hostages that Netanyahu wants to sacrifice. Good for the protesting Israelis who see that this is wrong and want to stop the war to prevent it. Imagine the day the protests also include saving Palestinians! Those brave Israelis of conscience are still a small minority. But may be growing!!

(19,755 posts)more often than not for decades now... Israel today has the government, policies, and military actions THAT THEY HAVE BEEN VOTING FOR.
Being impressed by this is like being impressed by anti-Trump protest sizes. It doesn't mean much. There are lots of people willing to protest, yeah, but not enough to have better governance.
