We are elderly and hubby hates change. He says we can keep our aol account for email and access to the Internet. Can somebody clarify this for us?

(19,976 posts)the only thing ending is dial-up internet, the email and instant messaging functions will still remain!
So, you can tell the change resistant hubby that he's right!

(29,652 posts)It's whomever you get internet through ie Xfinity, Verizon, Spectrum, etal.
Firefox is a webbrowser.
It would only affect you if you had AOL dialup internet. You're fine, everything will function exactly as it currently does.

(8,965 posts)You just will need an internet provider.
Xfinity has it all in one black box.
You are going to notice an extreme increase in speed of your connection. You are going from a Model T to a Porsche. 😂

(2,302 posts)If you have DSL/CABLE or Starlink then you can still access AOL Mail and messenger. If you have AOL dial up service then you should look for a new Internet provider. If you are on a fixed income DSL/Cable ISP's have programs for low income or fixed income users.
