He's complimented two of them on their "tans" so far and he's painfully, obviously trying to "butter them up". Gag worthy, but the Europeans won't let themselves get played I don't think. They looked pretty grim when they lined up for the group photo a couple of minutes ago.
Now he's on to his insane dishonest bragging about solving six wars already and how a ceasefire is not necessary anymore.

(25,527 posts)and polite, but they are not bowing down. The President of Italy is emphasizing the bravery of the Ukrainians and the need for security for them. After thanking him, the leaders all seem to pivot to that.

(25,527 posts)and he had to make arrangements after that to avoid a huge international controversy. He couldn't exactly refuse. Now the leaders know that if they are too dismissive of him in public on his home turf it will be counter productive.
