Democrats Face Their Own Realignment

Democrats Face Their Own Realignment

“Democrats are tortured by what they should stand for now and heading into the 2028 elections. But a number of current trends suggest a likely answer: their own version of a populist, anti-establishment, MAGA-like makeover,” Axios reports.

“The debate is usually framed as liberal vs. centrist, Rahm versus AOC. But big, fast changes in AI, media habits and general public angst point to a more sweeping shift in ideas and attitude.”

The pundits at Axios may be focusing on 2028, but pundits at Axios are shit-stirrers.

They NEVER interview us in diners.

When that happens, I'll take their bullshit seriously.

Axios NEVER stops with the 'Dems in Disarray' nonsense.

They love themselves a non-existent Existential Crisis for the Democratic Party.

Democrats are tortured by what they should stand for now and heading into the 2028 elections

Such utter bullshit.

But they are onto something. Dems are upping the feisty quotient but until the party gets squarely behind some core ideas it won’t go anywhere. The key issue for me is money in politics and having the guts to tell donors to fuck off if their goals don’t align with some very basic principles of fairness at home and abroad. No more fiery speeches to the public on the one hand and “reassuring” messages to donors in private on the other. People see through that shit and look where it has landed us.
