I Loved Watching It As A Child - H.R. Pufnstuf Showed Up At A Saturday Matinee At The Local Don Theater As A Child

Last edited Wed Aug 20, 2025, 11:36 AM - Edit history (2)

H.R. Pufnstuf showed up "in person" at The Don Theater in 1970 when the movie was released.

'The Don' was a popular movie theater in downtown Shreveport from 1947 until it closed in 1983. It had a seating capacity of 1200 people and saw over 2 million attendees between 1947 and 1953 alone which for a city the size of Shreveport at the time is quite remarkable.

It was a lot of fun, we took the neighbor children with us as well!
