Security Guarantees

They once pledged to keep Ukraine whole,
Then stood by as invaders took toll.
Now they’re back with a plea:
“Trust our next guarantee!”
It’s like, “Sure, I’ll behave—cross my soul!”

"We'll protect you!" they said with a grin,
Then stood by as the tanks rolled right in.
Now they’re back, bold and breezy:
"Just surrender — it's easy!
And this time we swear we won’t spin."

“You can trust us!” they earnestly said,
Though the last vow lay gasping and dead.
Now they’re back with a smile:
“Just forgive us this while—
We’ve only betrayed you in bed!”

They said, “We’ll defend you, for real!”
Then ghosted mid-tank tread and steal.
Now they’re back, hearts a-flutter:
“Let’s just sweep that in the gutter—
This time, babe, I swear I won’t cheat the deal!”
