just denied Louisiana’s redistricting.

Is it a done deal at this point, or just the start of fighting the rigged map? I don’t know.

in some other state....

"Unconstitutional"??? Pfffft, nobody but us Democrats care about that, anymore...

"DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP!" at the beginning of the fight! Democrats have a great chance of at least retaking the House in 2026, with the midterm wind at our backs, and the economy and inflation going sour for Trump,
along with his INCOMPETENCE (the unforgivable sin with voters)...

Depending on the scope of the 26 backlash, even the US SENATE may be in play!
(which was improbable until recently, but now we have a small chance there as well!)

Trump administration actions are calculated to make you 'give up the fight'
DON'T LET THEM SUCCEED!

Yeah, that's a lot of Kamala voters.... Thanks for the kick of reality---

but I WOULD STILL VERY MUCH like to "KICK" Texas Republicans out of the union---
Abbot and Paxton are at the top of the list!

(maybe we could find legal reasons to revoke their citizenship for criminal acts---
and then DEPORT them!----TRUMP has been trying to put THAT action "on the table"!)

Many Texans probably still think it was 'legitimate' for the state to have seceded from the Union-- (mostly Republicans now)---

If secession was legitimate (which one of the founders and first president of their party claimed never was),
it would be equally legitimate for the Union to kick them OUT of the Union!
(as neither action has any basis in the Constitution....)

Forgive my rant. I LOVE Texas Democrats! I am just done with the controlling party of your state government...

Oddly enough, in a case Texas was part of.

Thus, I would think the country writ large kicking out a state would be unconstitutional as well.

Even in modern days, there has been a secessionist movement in Texas---
especially while Obama or Biden were in office...

So much went wrong in Kerr County on July 4th. Everyone in power is in Kerrville (the county seat), which is downstream from where the flooding started. No one from Kerr County attended the state's emergency management session the day before. The County Judge (head of the county) was vacationing near Austin. The County Emergency Management Director was in bed sick. The mayor of Kerrville was asleep and focusing on the 4th of July bike parade. Kerrville's city manager was apparently out jogging at 3 am and didn't notice rain (or least heavy rain). The sheriff was asleep. There isn't cell reception where the downpour began and it was coming down at a rate of 6 inches per hour. And people in Kerrville can't hear NWS alerts because those alerts weren't for Kerrville! Kerrville got their first NWS alert at 5:30 am. The western part of the county had been under a flash flood warning since 1:15 am. Anyway, they want to improve emergency management services, so this BS doesn't happen again. If they had been awake in Kerrville many lives would have been spared!

They want to improve camp areas safety. I think it will happen.

Most of the flood victims were actually fairly well off. Many had homes worth 1 million. Many of those homes are vacation homes too. They didn't have flood insurance, but they also can afford to rebuild.

Most of the people who died were vacationing. They were staying in vacation rentals or RVs in campgrounds.

There is an area in Travis County where people lost homes. They are working class. They need financial assistance and many should be eligible for FEMA. One my friends works for FEMA and they only provide the bare essentials, so a millionaire would not benefit nor would they qualify.

that their Texas election-rigging will make no difference---

and since they have weakened Republican districts in their effort to take 5 more,
they could end up being surprised by the results.... losing districts they thought were 'safe'---
even many Republicans are now worried about this---
that Texas may have just passed a "dummy-mander"
