1. I Am Missing Something

Our wedding anniversary is the Ides of March, so I get all the history, but why today?
What did I miss?

4. Our Joke Has Been...

...that we can't throw an anniversary party because someone has to stab a friend in the back.
Actually, we did throw a 25th anniversary party at a local club. (Owner let us do it free.)
We did what we would have 25 years before had we not Bern concerned about parents, aunts & uncles and so on.
My band played instead of the crappy polka band we had; we served decent champagne instead of Andre; we did real Italian beef & BBQ chicken & pizzas.
Plus we had an ice bowl with 20# of shrimp.
We have video of the whole thing. And, nobody got stabbed in the back! Go figure.

However,

The first ruler of Rome after Julius Caesar was Octavian, who later became known by his title of Augustus. Octavian was Julius Caesar’s grand-nephew and was one of his political opponents. After Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44BCE, Octavian rose to power and became Consul of Rome in 43BCE. He then declared himself Emperor of Rome in 27BCE, becoming the first Roman Emperor in the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
