Why did Texas take critical thinking classes out of school in the 1990's

I think it is because it scares the hell out of the wealthy that the common man should think and not be trained the way they want it to be

1. It's not just Texas. Most schools do not teach critical thinking.

Especially with the increased testing nonsense of recent years, most "teaching" involves teaching how to take badly designed tests.

2. The same reason they took civics classes out.

They don’t want people knowing what their so-called rights are. They don’t want people figuring out just how badly this fascistic capitalist system is screwing them over.

They want the people divided over petty bullshit so we don’t unite against them and have the French Revolution style party we so desperately need.

They want fascism to be accepted.

And they’re winning.

We (the party leaders) better figure this shit out quick. We’re just about at the point of no return.

My guess is that there are many others as well. Street smarts is just not sexy anymore.
