Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) holds a 6-point lead over former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), according to a poll released days after Brown launched his campaign for Senate.
Husted leads Brown 50 percent to 44 percent, according to an Emerson College poll released Friday. The polls margin of error was 3 percentage points.
In the first public poll following Sherrod Browns 2026 campaign kick-off, the former Senator trails the incumbent Jon Husted by six points, though he has a higher name recognition than the first-term Senator, said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.
Brown launched his campaign Monday, less than a year after he lost his reelection bid to Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) in November.

(1,677 posts)I was away for a bit. Yes, my point was that there arent many senators that lose and come back to win again. I could be wrong though, and the rules are out the window these days. Ohio has gone hard right in recent years.

I'm not sure what the overall numbers are for someone holding an office, losing it, and then winning it back are. There are a few obvious cases, Trump and Grover Cleveland.
