"If you allow a government to break the law because of an emergency..."

...that government will always create an emergency to break the law."

Important words from an old school friend, this morning.

although the top court of 6 justices is in shithole's pocket for now.

Reading the history of the USA, seems WE THE PEOPLE constantly have to deal with RWers who hate democracy to the extent of 1st Civil War, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, etc.

I think WE THE PEOPLE although we are in a economic crisis, military present, and the total incompetence and stupidly engulf the federal government, GQP control of both branches of congress who are crazier than the craziest all of which have evil intentions while wrap in the flag and holding a Bible.

My opinion, we will survive this too.

The emergency decrees are obvious pretext. The muted response or lack of response from the majority of citizens bodes ill for the future of American democracy.

somehow justify their fascist policies. Shit they clearly wanted to do anyway (like build concentration camps and defund everything they hate) but still needed some kind of excuse in order to actually get away with.

unfounded, unproven declarations of so-called "emergencies." The fact that this country even allows presidents to do this shit without so much as having to prove the need for such an emergency in the first place is an abject failure of the American system.

CNN doing articles about Trump’s crime crack down instead of calling it what it is. It’s a gross violation of the Constitution to use the military against citizens Trump wants to terrorize.
